We're No Angels

I have not seen this movie since it first hit cable back decades ago. I was way younger and missed a lot of the humor in this great movie. The story is simple...3 cons escape prison and 2 get mistaken for 2 missing priest. They have to fool their way into priesthood in order to get across the Canadian border and into freedom. Not as easy as one would think. There are lots of comedic misteps of them trying to make it over this small bridge. It has an amazing cast as well. I do wish it was longer to really let more of the story flow and all of the characters get more time on screen.

There is a nice amount of extras that are worth a watch. I can tell a lot of hard work and passion went into this release so I highly recommend picking it up.

This movie has never looked better, lots of special features and great packaging

Jordan’s work is magnificent, especially in the 90’s. More people need to appreciate this man’s stellar films. “We’re no angels” is no exception. A remake that works. Based of Bogart’s same titled film from the 50’s, Jordan manages to still make this farce work and make it his own. Great performances from Penn and DeNiro especially. This has a special place in my life because I remember seeing this in theaters with my grandmother.

A very interesting remake of the 1955 classic movie that had some very good aspects.

A funny movie with DeNino and Penn.
