Ultramegalopolis

Very interesting film. Well worth a viewing.

Cinema verite capturing eccentrics. Great watch!

Larry Wessel's waltz through 1990's Los Angeles will strike a chord for anyone who lived through it. Ther is footage of the urban landscape following the Rodney King riots in 1992; footage of performance artists such as Glen Mead More and the Goddess Danielle; the incredible non-human personality Shay Saint John and many more. A lot of the footage is raw as befitting the subject matter. Overall, a useful reminder and relic of pre-Internet culture.

The slipcover is awesome, as always with anything VS or their awesome partner Labels release! It is a cool movie that was a lot of fun to watch! I always love the unique VS service of allowing you to stack as many movies as you like in your cart during any release period and ship them for free! The peerless VS restoration process was on full display with stellar sound and picture! Thank you, VS, for continuing to lovingly restore and release so many wonderful films from every conceivable genre! You are keeping physical media alive in this streaming world we now live in! Highly recommended!

What a curiosity emerging from a very specific point in time. This title (which Google kept insisting was actually Megalopolis, thanks Coppola) is entirely montages compiled from random footage shot around LA, but an LA rarely seen in the mainstream then, and definitely not now. Even at 155 minutes, it flies by.
