Yes Billy Banks and Jalal Merhi a throwback to the karate kicking days of video greatness. Film presented on beautiful slipcase also great commentary by Jalal also this stars both Janes Hong and the ever awesome Mathius Hues.

A very entertaining slice of early ’90s martial-arts action. The story is simple, but the fights, practical stunt work and old-school atmosphere make it a lot of fun. Billy Blanks delivers exactly the kind of energetic action you want from this type of movie.

Talons of the Eagle is exactly the kind of early-’90s martial arts movie I have a soft spot for. Billy Blanks and Jalal Merhi make a fun duo, James Hong is always great as the villain, and once the undercover setup gets rolling there are plenty of fights to keep things moving.
The movie absolutely has that rental-store action vibe — straightforward plot, tough-guy dialogue, training scenes, tournaments, and enough martial arts to make the whole thing an easy watch. It’s not trying to reinvent anything, it just wants to entertain, and honestly that works for me.
The VSA presentation is a big part of the appeal too. The 4K scan from the original 35mm camera negative looks way better than something like this ever did on VHS, and the making-of documentary plus Jalal Merhi commentary are exactly the kind of extras I want on a release like this. The VHS-style slipcase and poster finish it off nicely.
Pure early-’90s martial arts comfort food. Definitely staying in the collection. 😁

The weakest of the Blanks / Merhi trilogy. Still just dumb fun action shlock.
