Saloum is a stylish mix of crime, horror, and folklore that feels fresh from start to finish. The characters are compelling, the cinematography is stunning, and the final act delivers a memorable payoff without losing sight of the film's emotional core. A fantastic showcase for contemporary African genre cinema.

I discovered this movie when I was searching through Vinegar Syndrome's Catalogue. The movie is fast paced thriller + intense + a western + super natural Horror. I was fortunate mine came with a slipcover when its not always the case. The movie was filmed in Senegal which is the westernmost country of mainland West Africa. I like independent films especially when its done right. I'm glad I was able to pick this one up.
