This listing is for the standard edition Blu-ray/DVD combo. The limited edition slipcover (designed by Earl Kessler Jr.) was limited to 2,000 units and is sold out. The two versions are identical, aside from the slipcover.

When she was a child, Olivia (Suzanna Love) witnessed the horrifying and violent murder of her prostitute mother at the hands of an angry John. Now an adult, she's married to an abusive and controlling factory worker, that is, until her mother appears to her and demands that Olivia avenge her death by seducing and then slaying men. While disposing of a body near the London Bridge, Olivia has a chance meeting with a friendly American named Mike (Robert Walker Jr) who reveals that he’s visiting England in order to dismantle and move the bridge to Arizona, setting off a series of increasingly strange events, and a lot more bloodshed…

Perhaps the most offbeat film in the fascinating career of German actor turned exploitation auteur, Ulli Lommel (Tenderness of the Wolves, The Boogeyman) OLIVIA (also known as Prozzie and Double Jeopardy) finds a distinctive blend of slasher, erotic thriller, and straight forward sleaze, seasoned with touches of semi-surrealism. Atmospherically photographed and featuring a moody score by Joel Goldsmith (Man’s Best Friend), Vinegar Syndrome brings this nearly unclassifiable piece of early 80s genre weirdness to Blu-ray, newly restored in 4K from its original 35mm camera negative and presented in its completely uncensored version for the first time on disc.

Why

"Good idea for a movie and it was interesting, in the first half. . But the last thirs of the film was just one of the worst aimless stories I have seen on a screen. It is like someone started to make a movie but have no clue what to do with the rest so they just improvise to make it longer"

Bjarte A. (3/5)

Beautiful film and a great release

"Really glad to have this one. Olivia has a very eerie, dreamlike feel, and it keeps getting stranger as it goes along in a way I really liked. It is one of those films that feels a little rough around the edges, but that is also part of the charm. A very solid release for a distinctive Ulli Lommel horror title."

Thomas L. (4/5)

Odd Duck

"This one's hard to describe. We have Suzanna Love playing two roles, and a straight lace American caught in the middle of a bad marriage and a damaged woman. The picture looks fine, but I had a hard time getting into this one due to the shift from London to Arizona."

Nathan L. (2/5)

Surreal

"Strange, hypnotic film with a sexy actress that has an annoying husband. I couldn't wait to see his demise, if at all. The transfer looks great considering what VS had to work with as the blurb describes before the movie starts. I don't need every movie to look perfect. I can enjoy the grit of natural film stock without every speck having to be removed. The flick made me want to check out Ulli Lomell's other films in VS' library. I will someday."

OLIVIA

"This was on the lower end of the Ulli filmography for me, but there's still good stuff here"

Richard M. (3/5)

Gritty psychological thriller that faulters

"Decent restoration despite some not so great audio quality but if you like seedy thrillers, this might be for you"

Ian B. (3/5)

Euro-sleaze!

"I am so happy I picked this up before it went OOP. Thank god! It's one of those movies I kept meaning to pick up because I really liked The Devonsville Terror. I actually think I may like Olivia more. Sleazy and voyeuristic and weird, with a a great transfer and wonderful colors that looks amazing! I love this kind of old stuff, and I really wish I could've visited Europe before modern times."

Reeves M. (5/5)

The London Bridge Moves Across the Pond Slasher

"Kinda slow, but in a good way. Kinda dirty too. My main question is this: Did the director, Ulli Lomell, film the scenes with the intact London Bridge in London and then wait however the hell long it took for them to move it and re-build it in Arizona and then finish filming? If so, bravo sir. Weird flex."

Kevin D. (5/5)

Dudes Beware

"Olivia is a great female revenge thriller with dashes of erotica, slasher elements, and sexy sleaze done right in the 80s. It's an amazing new scan featuring plenty of bonus features. There isn't much else I can say, but it's a fun ride and looks great while taking the trip through an early 80s lens of vengeance."
