Description

A family's home movies document a desperate crime spree and a bid to outrun the consequences…Or do they? In this meta-fiction thriller, an average family’s youtube videos have been edited to resemble something quite different. An extraordinary feat of editing, a provocative parable of the pursuit of happiness, and a disturbing demonstration of the mutability of the stories we share in the Internet age, FRAUD defies simplistic definition.

    An editor's doc

Lots of documentaries manipulate their subject in post. It's the nature of editing. Fraud takes this and runs with it.

    Great concept!

A great concept that transformed mundane home movies into something much much darker. Beware if you have motion sickness, lots of frantic editing!

Fascinating experiment unveils an even crazier “truth”

I want to say a lot about Fraud, but I won’t. I will just encourage you to watch it and then immediately do research on the father in the movie.

Just look at my photo. He immediately replied to my review on Letterboxd as he does to most reviews on there.

The “truth” is just as compelling as the “fictional” film.
