Brotherhood of Blood

Brotherhood of Blood is a stripped-down vampire film that puts a different spin on familiar mythology. The script keeps the story focused on a group of vampire hunters trying to rescue one of their own, while introducing its own mythology surrounding the feared vampire Vlad Kossel. The limited locations and modest budget actually help give the movie a claustrophobic feel.

The cast is a major attraction, particularly Victoria Pratt and horror veteran Sid Haig. The film moves quickly and doesn't waste much time getting into the conflict, making it an easy watch for fans of low-budget 2000s horror.

The picture presentation is solid and preserves the gritty visual character of the production rather than making it look unnaturally polished. The slipcover is also a welcome collector bonus, with artwork that fits the dark vampire theme nicely.

Overall, this is a fun, compact vampire movie with an interesting mythology and plenty of old-school genre appeal.

You can hardly call this a good movie. The only reason to buy this release is solely for Victoria Pratt. The direction is downright terrible, and the bonus features are pretty lackluster too. I am giving it 3 stars only because I am in a good mood, but in reality, 2 stars would be more than enough.
