Blood Hook

Blood Hook is such a strange little regional slasher, and that’s exactly why I like it. The Wisconsin lake setting gives it a great summer-horror vibe, and the whole fishing-tournament setup already makes it feel different from the usual camp or college slashers.

Then the movie starts mixing in giant fishing hooks, local weirdos, gore, and that bizarre cicada angle and it becomes its own thing entirely 😂 It’s definitely goofy, but it has a ton of personality and that handmade ’80s regional-horror charm I’m always a sucker for.

The kills are fun, the atmosphere works, and I like that it never feels like it’s just copying another slasher beat for beat. The Blu-ray presentation is also a huge step up from how a movie like this probably lived for years on old tapes and DVDs.

Cheap? Yep. Weird? Very. Memorable? Absolutely. Definitely staying in the collection. 😁

Great release! Especially if you're a fishing enthusiast. There's not many ( if any) movies with this kinda story setting. Its a good time , just wish it got a lil zanier

I love cheesy horror movies that hinge on a very specific premise and this one doesn’t disappoint. Great release by Vinegar Syndrome.

This film was as wacky as I thought it would be, this fishing slasher is worth the buy

This was a fun film with some hilarious kills, this is for lovers of silly horrors
