This was a lot more like the After the world ends book than the newest Pulse Video book, Cannibal Worlds. This is a very cursory, surface level coverage of a few dozen films. Like all the Pulse books, it's nicely put together, with great photos and poster art, but most films only get a couple pages, much of which is just writing the films' prologues and plots. I did learn a few anecdotes about behind the scenes stuff, while on other films I knew things the author never mentions. There are no in depth essays or writings from any other authors, or interesting interviews, like there are in Cannibal Worlds. This is really more of a quick reference book to look up titles here and there, but beyond basic info most films don't have much content in their sections. I did appreciate the positive attitude of the writing, in that he doesn't ridicule or insult even the least of these productions. Don't expect any great writing or to learn much.
