AJ Goes to the Dog Park

cool slipcover got me to buy it and the extras blew me away. so many and so funny. i love this website. can't wait to show this to all of my friends and family. i'm sure they won't get it but i'll still try.

Toby Jones has always been great, but this feels next level.

So bad it’s good, but like on purpose. This is like when a bunch of silly friends get together and make a movie. Terrible acting, cringe jokes, poor editing, nonsensical story, but it just works. Get it if you want a fun time.

Really enjoyed this movie. The humor is very unique and quirky, so it may not be for everyone. But I loved all the different creative choices that they took to convey the story and humor. This release also came loaded with much appreciated extras. I hope Cartuna continues to release these kind of movies!

AJ Goes to the Dog Park is an offbeat indie comedy that leans hard into awkwardness and low-key absurdity, finding humor in the mundane rhythms of everyday life. The film follows its socially adrift protagonist through a series of small, loosely connected encounters centered around the deceptively ordinary setting of a neighborhood dog park, using that space as a backdrop for subtle character study. Its deliberately understated pacing and dry, sometimes uncomfortable humor won’t land for everyone, but there’s a certain sincerity to how it observes loneliness, routine, and the strange ways people try to connect. Rather than building toward big comedic payoffs, it settles into a quiet, almost meandering groove, making it feel less like a traditional comedy and more like a gently surreal slice of life.
