"Ultra-cheap production values and loose plot but I adore its charmingly unhinged, amateurish spirit and killer underground soundtrack. Quintessential piece of DIY micro-budget horror with raw 80s skate-punk style"
"Twisted Issues wants to put you off. It's an eighty-minute assault on the senses, complete with disgusting violence and a lo-fi, VHS aesthetic that looks like it's degrading as you're watching it. What plot is has (a murdered skateboarder comes back from the dead to get revenge on those people who killed him) is really just a springboard for gore effects and screaming punk songs and attitude, attitude, attitude. I kinda loved it. Think if Jackass directed Death Wish or The Wraith, and you'll have a sense of what a wild, frenetic trip this is."
"I love punk, skateboards and splatter. I also love the slipcover on this one and i certainly did love the extras too! This is the kind of a gem that works best for those who enjoy SOV and early video madness in general. It's weird and it's not completely house clean, but boy was it fun. One has to have their expectations in check as far as the video quality goes, but it's the best it can be. The fact that someone even released this and with such great extras is a minor miracle. I guess we could say they went the EXTRA mile with this. The movie is rad. I might be biased as i'm part of the target category. The packaging and extras are superb. One of my favourite UG releases so far."
"This is such a vibe and it helps if you were a weird teenager when this came out because. . . wow."
"One of my favorite Saturn's Core release in recent years! Charles Pinion is an amazing artist and I loved his double feature of WE AWAIT and RED SPIRIT LAKE. TWISTED ISSUES was an earlier film of his and more rough around the edges, but still has Pinion's very own style. This is punk rock SOV movie making at its best. Saturn's Core once again outdid themselves in terms of extras. There is soooo much cool stuff to watch. I love the artwork on this release too. Highly recommended!"
"Really great, full of punk energy and creativity"
"Good SoV from the director of Red Spirit Lake. Not as out-and-out weird, but it has some crusty spirit"
"I had seen Red Spirit Lake and We Await but never this, until now. It kills! Might be my new favorite Pinion! Lots of great extras"
"What a trip. Makes me want to jump back on my skateboard!"
"This is a total cult movie through and through. Twisted Issues is rough around the edges, but that is also a big part of the appeal. It has a lot of energy, a weird sense of humor, and the kind of homemade charm that makes releases like this really rewarding for collectors. Not for everyone, but definitely a fun discovery."
