Ambitious Manhattan executive Bart Hughes has pretty much got it made. 80s Horror Masterpiece

"If Peter Weller vs a giant rat doesn't float your boat, well, I'm not really sure what will. A brilliant 80s psychological horror/creature feature, Of Unknown Origin is one of the great yuppie nightmare films, anchored by a tremendous performance from Dr Weller. It's just entertaining as hell. I thought I was happy with my SF release, but this one looks incredible, and the array of extras is astounding (particularly love the Weller interview)."

robocop vs a rat

"Basic plot. Robocop himself peter weller is left alone at home when he finds he has a rat living in the house with him. This rat is a big en and goes out of its way to mess with peters head until he takes the rat on mono a mono. Not as silly as it sounds this is quite a well crafted thriller with the rat starting of slowly in its destruction and becoming more and more brave in its assaults. Great dream scene where the rat attacks his sons birthday. Peter is really good as the man getting more an more irate and its great at the end when he suits up in sports gear and completely wrecks his house to fight the rat."

"This is a reference quality 4K! The picture is perfect! The movie is a lot of fun. It’s a kill-or-be-killed type of horror flick with some humor in it because that rat is indestructible. Weller paces the frustration and despair masterfully, while the rat matches him at each turn. This a relentless rat! Plot points stay strong, all working together to showcase the rat’s repulsiveness and Weller’s tenacity. Visually, it’s marvelous - if a disgusting rat could be that! Supporting players are strong as well, excellent character work."

I’ve wanted this movie for so long

"This is the third movie in a triumvirate of films starring Peter Welles, who never achieved the widespread acclaim he deserves, but between Buckaroo Banzai, Robocop and this film, he established himself as a major talent. Here, Welles plays a man struggling with the burdens of family and homeownership who finds himself in a life or death struggle with a rat - a rat that seems almost supernaturally able to hit him where it emotionally hurts worst. As his family separated from him temporarily, Weller is forced into a final, insane combat not just for his home and life, but for the very meaning of who he is as a man. Great film."
