Alley Cat

Alley Cat is a scrappy blend of vigilante action and urban sleaze that wears its rough edges with pride. The film barrels forward on pure drive, mixing bare-knuckle fights, pulpy attitude, and a grimy city backdrop that feels straight out of a midnight movie fever dream. Performances are big and unpolished, but that only adds to the sense of outlaw energy, as if the movie is daring you to keep up. It is not refined or subtle, yet its raw momentum and unapologetic grindhouse spirit make it a blast for anyone who loves their action loud, dirty, and fueled by street-level fury.

Good archives release. Very much enjoyed the slip for this one.

Very happy to finally get my hands on a copy of this forgotten gem during the Rad sale. Super fun early 80s lo-fi. Wish there was a bit more action but the story was engaging enough to keep me interested. Packaging and artwork is top notch as always from the VSA line.

Grat VSA release.

Alley Cat offers a sharp remaster of this gritty exploitation thriller. Directed by multiple directors, the film follows a woman who becomes a vigilante after being assaulted, taking matters into her own hands against the criminal underworld. The Blu-ray features improved picture transfer and sound quality, bringing out the film's dark, atmospheric tone and vibe. Bonus features provide additional insight into its cult status. While Alley Cat is a typical 80s exploitation film with its blend of action and exploitation, Vinegar Syndrome’s release is a must for fans of the genre, offering both a clean presentation and a glimpse into a lesser-known cult classic.
