I was curious.

Presented in partnership with Something Weird Video...
The American Genre Film Archive (AGFA) represents the world's largest theatrical catalog of exploitation cinema. Their home video line presents a diverse selection of movies, ranging from new preservations of classics from the vast library of Something Weird to the wildest in shot-on-video (SOV) titles. Vinegar Syndrome’s sister company, OCN Distribution, is thrilled to be representing this diverse and unique home video line!
THE CURIOUS DR. HUMPP isn’t a movie -- it’s a rite of passage. Easily one of the most brainbreaking sensory overloads in exploitation history, the story follows Dr. Humpp and his army of grotesque monsters as they kidnap couples and drain their “blood forces of sex” to keep the doctor eternally young. Directed by the prolific Emilio Vieyra in Argentina, this movie combines artful gothic horror with unhinged sex, comic book pulp, and a talking brain in a jar. Plus a monster who plays the guitar. Basically, this is what might have happened if Mario Bava collaborated with Doris Wishman after an acid binge. AGFA + Something Weird are thrilled to present a brand new restoration of this iconic sex-horror classic, complete with a new commentary track from filmmaker Frank Henenlotter (BASKET CASE). Plus LA VENGANZA DEL SEXO, Vieyra’s original “horror” cut of THE CURIOUS DR. HUMPP in its original Spanish language -- available for the first time ever on home video with English subtitles!

"Not a great film, but weird enough to hold my attention."
"The Curious Dr. Humpp is exactly the kind of insane cult film that makes these AGFA / Something Weird releases so much fun. It is part horror, part sexploitation, part mad-scientist nonsense, and honestly almost impossible to describe without making it sound even crazier than it is. The Blu-ray is really worth having, because the film looks far better than something this weird probably has any right to look. The 2K restoration gives it a surprisingly nice presentation, and it is great that the original cut La venganza del sexo is included as a bonus. The Frank Henenlotter commentary also adds a lot, because he clearly knows and loves this kind of material. Overall, a strange, funny and completely unique release for fans of vintage exploitation weirdness."
"US Version: sex, sex, more sex, and then a little bit more sex before adding in some more sex. In other words. . . sex."
"60s pulp genre salad of the highest order"
"Funny odd movie that I had to give it a try… it was on sale and luckily I made the right decision (:"
"Good and strange movie."
"It’s great finally having this wonky exploration flick on Blu-ray."
"The Curious Dr. Humpp can be read as disposable, or as something far stranger: a low-budget metaphysics of control, disguised as pulp. In that light, it stands—not as a polished achievement—but as a curious artifact of ideas, where the ridiculous and the profound briefly, improbably converge."
"Some wild 60s psychedelic weirdness. Top stuff."
"If you like weird movies and boobs you will live Dr. Humpp"
