A modern period piece giallo, set in the 70's, about a sound man working on a giallo film.
Very well done meta arthouse horror with weird and creepy ambiance and visuals.
At the beginning, the basic plot starts off similar to Evil Ed, but replaces the camp with a more serious, darker tone, and forgoes the gore in favor of the main character falling into a nightmarish psychosis, unsure of what is or isn't real.
I'd recommend streaming first, as this type of film isn't for everyone, but I definitely liked it.

My favorite Strickland film.

A hypnotic psychological thriller that turns sound design into the main character. Toby Jones is outstanding, and the film perfectly captures the eerie world of vintage Italian horror production. The soundtrack and restoration are exceptional.

Asolutely nothing to criticize. Movie looks awesome. Tons of extras, including the original short film which I haven't seen before, a super-interesting interview with Strickland and an excellent booklet. Top!
