Reviews

Hope this series continues!

"Really like these slim cine 'journal' sort of zines. I have a love-hate relationship with the booklets in VS releases, and especially Cinematographe, but the issues of the journal I've read so far have been pretty solid quality. I like how it sort of builds out the label's definition and purpose beyond just its current disc releases. They also feel decent and are a nice add on to an order. It's been a minute since I read this one but iirc the highlights for me here were the pieces on It's My Turn and Quincy Jones."

Worth every penny

"Small in size but big in quality. Loved reading Sean Baker’s sexploitation picks but enjoyed all the articles"

Andrew B. (4/5)

Love it!

"Sadly I didn’t have any items I immediately needed to order when this dropped but as it sold out so quickly I’m glad I grabbed it right away! Love the revival of the zine from so many cool outlets and I’m so glad to have both of these."

This Is Cinématographe # 2

"Another excellent issue of Cinématographe's Zine, containing pieces on some of my favorite things- Paul Schrader, Jim Thompson and Apocalypse Now! I still think the price is a little high for what we get, which is why I dock a star from what would be a 5 star rating. 52 pages for $10 is pushing the price limit for me. But the content is interesting and I'm hoping if this continues to sell they'll be able to give us a little more content each issue."

Jason M. (4/5)

Great little zine, makes me

"Great little zine, makes me nostalgic. Couldn't resist as a fan of Schrader and Jim Thompson; the Sheen article is quite interesting as well and I need to check out Baker's faves!"

Matthew K. (5/5)

A great read

"Really enjoyable read, well put together with great design and layout. Found a couple of new movies to check out as a result of this issue and will definitely be picking up all future zines as well from Cinématographe."

Todd H. (5/5)
