Aitana returns home for the first time in three years, excited to introduce her wife and their adopted infant son to her extended family and celebrate Christmas together. The family villa in the Spanish countryside is exactly as she remembers – except for the addition of Nadia, a Romanian refugee who has claimed Aitana’s bedroom, her clothes, and her family heirlooms. Why have Aitana’s conservative parents, long suspicious of immigrants, embraced the mysterious Nadia with such uncharacteristic warmth? Is Nadia a shrewd usurper, or an unwitting vessel for darker forces spreading across the land? A twisty thriller that locates the uncanny in the reflexive cordiality of the holiday season, YOU ARE NOT ME is a dark and disturbing dispatch from the most irrational realm: family.

"Another movie I discovered through vinegar syndromes partner labels with a beautiful presentation and release."
"A well-presented Blu-ray release for a tense, slow-burn Spanish psychological horror film that relies more on atmosphere and discomfort than traditional scares, with good video quality and a very nice slipcover on the Music Box Selects Partner Label."
"Better then expected worth adding to the collection"
"Little Indie horror flick. . mabye a little too long pacing wise. . but that opion mabye will change after a rewatch."
"To say I was impressed by this movie is an understatement. Filled with quite a few twists that I was not able to guess any of. I have already let a friend borrow is and she also had nothing but good things to say about it. The suspense was done very well and there were quite a few intense and creepy scenes (after watching the movie I was very glad to see the inside or the wrap containing one of the most unnerving scenes to me). Special feature wise I was most impressed by the '9 Steps' short film. I have watched it multiple times since buying this disc. I also enjoyed the commentary that was included and the way Alexandra Heller-Nicholas talked about the immigrant politics used in the movie, very insightful listen/watch."
"I had never heard of this film before VS released it. Great domestic thriller. The limited edition w/the O-Card was already sold out but I'm glad I was able to get a copy of the Standard release."
"You Are Not Me by Marisa Crespo and Moisés Romera feels like someone filmed a panic attack in 16mm and then whispered it to you in a gallery bathroom while a synth track hummed from the next room. It’s identity horror for people who alphabetize their zines and pretend they don’t check Letterboxd before bed, and it leaves you feeling like your reflection might blink first."
"A lesbian couple returns home and finds weirdness. The ending is memorable for sure and not something I hope is spoiled before you watch. Very well made and acted. One of the better partner label horror releases lately. Highly recommended."
"Engaging piece of contemporary Spanish horror, with solid pacing from start to finish. Gave me some 'Hereditary' vibes, which isn't a bad thing. I'm also a sucker for the fractured family trope."
"Did not anticipate the Christmas themed horror in this release! A pleasant surprise."
