White River

White River is a restrained Chinese drama that uses isolation and intimacy to explore loneliness, desire, and the complicated dynamics of modern relationships. Rather than relying on a plot-heavy narrative, the film spends time observing its characters and allowing their emotional lives to gradually reveal themselves.

The cinematography is a major strength. The urban environments and carefully composed interiors create a strong sense of place, while the deliberate pacing gives the performances room to breathe.

It's definitely a film that asks for patience, but I appreciated how little it tries to explain or simplify its characters. The ambiguity makes their relationships feel more complicated and human.

Overall, White River is a thoughtful, visually accomplished drama that should appeal to viewers who enjoy quiet, character-focused international cinema.

I'm sure Ma Xue is gonna be someone to look out fpr in the future

A fascinating film with a distinctive visual style and an atmosphere that stayed with me after it ended. I’m very happy to have it in my collection, and the physical presentation looks great. Everything arrived safely and in perfect condition.

Fickle like rain

This COVID-era film explores a love triangle near Beijing. Deliberately paced and with minimal dialogue, it succeeds based on vibes and cinematography as it descends further into a sexual maze.
