Reviews

Glad to add this one to my collection alongside ISTTG

"Originally watched this on streaming, so seeing VS had released a bluray was a pleasant surprise. Deeply unique and sad film that’ll stick with you. Also, probably one of the better depictions of how the internet can affect people. Glad I could add this release to my collection. Wish I hadn’t missed out on the slipcover, but just glad to have it. If you’re on the fence grab it now before it goes out of print! No one is doing it quite like Jane Schoenbrun. Looking forward to seeing what they do next!"

Let’s All Go!

"The performances in this truly unsettling flick are compelling and will keep you on the edge all the way through it. It’s remarkable how much mileage you can get from a face just staring at you. It’s a lot. This was a deeply moving film, and colorful too. It looks incredibly good for its budget."

Bryan K. (5/5)

Jane Schoenbrun rocks

"I saw, and loved, I Saw the TV Glow and it was a no brainer I needed this as well"

Michael V. (5/5)

Unsettling Queer Horror

"Dread-inducing digital exploration of the queen experience. Great bonus stuff on the disc, and the packaging and visual transfer are great!"

Tony H. (5/5)

Prep for the TV Glow

"Movie: A sparse movie for sure, but engaging all the way through. It plays with your expectations in a way that I think will reward future watches. It was fun for me to look up the ASMR video played in the movie and discover that I had already watched it. Shout out to Slight Sounds ASMR, b/c this movie doesn't seem to have given the video a noticeable boost in views. Extras: A full collection of extras. The multiple Q&As can be a bit tiring to watch in their entirety, but are definitely nice to have. The deleted/extended scenes are very interesting to see. Lastly, always nice to have the trailer. Packaging: A good cover, plus I love the attention to detail on the disc art."

Gideon M. (4/5)

Glad I gave this another chance

"Didn’t totally get this when it first came out. Decided to order after liking the directors second film a lot. Gave it the full attention watch it deserves and realized how great it is. Vibes all the way through. Lots to intellectualize. Grab it before it’s gone!"

David H. (5/5)

Modern Classic

"This one is really good and I can relate to it on a personal level. Highly recommended. Over all a great release too. Awesome animated menu on the disc which you don't ever see these days."

Drake D. (5/5)

Weird and Rad

"I was sesrching this out after seeing the directors other film I Saw the TV Glow and I might like this one even more, it’s way smaller but I like that. As always the transfer is excellent, the packaging is amazing, and the features are great. Overall really dig it."

Chris S. (5/5)

Unsettling

"Dir. Schoenbrun is specializing in the uncanny side of coming of age. Has done so now two times, with this film being a superb debut. Excited about her third!"

Oleh S. (5/5)
