ALL NEW! For fans of THE ROAD WARRIOR and MAD MAX: FURY ROAD... a sprawling, epic saga of car crashes, bloody action and epic revenge that will blow your mind into the next dimension!
Janet of the Apocalypse was an ordinary housewife on the DAY BEFORE... but now that the world has been ravaged and there's nothing left but scorched earth, ruined cities and roads filled with carnage at eighty miles per hour, Janet is one badass bitch you do NOT want to mess with. She's riding the highways fast in a souped-up retro-future muscle car, declaring war on anyone who dares to catch up with her. And as she searches the Demolition Desert for a clue as to what made her this way and what EXACTLY happened to the world, she finds the answers are not so simple. The shocking secret of a supercomputer programmed to rewrite the fabric of reality looms ahead, while Janet is reunited with the bizarre reincarnations of her son and daughter. Oh, and let's not forget KID DEAD, a suicidal undead teenage vigilante with a death wish... against himself! And then there's Jim the World's Greatest, a maniac movie director with a passion for making slasher flicks into real life snuff films in the blasted ruins of Murder City. And this is just the beginning. It gets weirder and weirder, as the bad guys go down by the hundreds and the stakes rack up beyond imagination, in a final war to save the universe itself from oblivion.
Hailed by fans upon its initial release as an ongoing series, WASTELAND 1989 ran for just three issues at Eibon Press, with the final chapters never published. Now, in all it's bloody glory, the whole saga is collected, with the never-seen issues #4 and #5 completing an epic saga with a climax so insane, so twisted, so utterly WILD that it must be seen to be believed. Seriously, folks, this one's got the goods: all the sleazy action of the MAD MAX ripoff films from the 1980s combined with the heady science fiction head trips of THE MATRIX, all throttled beyond overdrive to shock you, thrill you, maybe even leave you pondering cosmic mysteries... and Janet also might have a few things to teach you about The Heroes Journey along the way. Now available for the first time anywhere, this collected volume is 240 pages of sheer cinematic-style mayhem, printed in two limited editions with variant covers. Come ride with Janet of the Apocalypse... and feel the burn.
With a new FORWARD by super-fan Cindy Chainsaw and a new afterword by author Stephen Romano.
