Violent Streets

Violent Streets is a tough, stylish yakuza film that takes familiar underworld material and gives it an unusually eccentric edge. Noboru Ando is a commanding presence, and director Hideo Gosha fills the movie with sudden violence, strange characters, and memorable visual flourishes.

The transfer is a major part of the appeal, allowing the bold compositions, nighttime photography, and bursts of color to really stand out. The image retains an appropriately film-like character rather than looking excessively processed.

The sound presentation complements the movie well, particularly during its more chaotic confrontations and musical passages. Dialogue remains clear while the soundtrack retains plenty of impact.

For anyone familiar with older presentations, this feels like a worthwhile upgrade and a great way to rediscover an unconventional piece of 70s Japanese crime cinema.

Overall, Violent Streets is stylish, unpredictable, and considerably stranger than the average yakuza film.

I loved this movie!Exactly as the description said and such a hip influential Japanese gangster film ahead of its time! You can see Tarantino,Wes Andersen and Guy Ritchie getting ideas from this with so much crazy fun old school action. The direction is amazing and so is acting-I want to see more of these old school Japanese crime films

It’s a nice release, very pleased with it.

Great yakuza flick from Hideo Gosha.
