Tramps

“We were the product!” They were loud. They were dangerous. They were fabulous. Called Blitz Kids and Peacock Punks by a confused tabloid press, a new class of proudly out and outre youths changed the face of London in the 1970s and 1980s. Faced with a repressive, traditional, and colorless UK, a group of misfits refashioned society in a more beautiful and strange image. From acclaimed documentarian Kevin Hegge comes TRAMPS! the story of the kids that would come to be called the New Romantics, who used music, art, fashion, and film to create a revolutionary new London scene.

With testimony from legendary personalities Judy Blame, Princess Julia, Andrew Logan, John Maybury, and Michael Costiff among others TRAMPS! pieces together a history of the people responsible for turning London from a post-war ruin into a teeming site of creativity, love, and rebellion through style. Electric testimony, invaluable archival material, and gorgeous outfits fuse to tell the story of a freely queer time of discovery and destruction with appearances by Leigh Bowery, Derek Jarman, The Sex Pistols, Siouxsie Sioux, Boy George, and more.

Dekanalog is proud to present this special, limited edition Blu-ray of this essential document of broken boundaries, a touching homage to departed luminaries, and a killer party all in one package.
