A Thriller Without Thrills
"Thriller is a simple enough revenge movie. However, I wouldn't call it a great film. There's barely any tension. One-eye's ability to go and come as she pleases from her captor is somewhat strange, allowing her to build her strengths as a killer. So, does she get to keep all her money that she makes as a prostitute? Some of this plot is never really fleshed out. Speaking of flesh, the pornographic inserts were exploitative, but they also help drive home the horror of One-eye's predicament. I just thought there could be more action in the movie's third act instead of the watered down, repetitive slow motion scenes. Film looks great and the artwork makes this movie feel like a bigger deal."

The sound slows down for each kill making for a real grasp of the revenge Madeline is getting. It is an artful depiction of the surroundings she finds herself in which are drab and cold.
