I Love These Zines!
"I'm always happy to see a cinema journal, especially one from a distributor I respect like Cinematographie. This is definitely worth grabbing if it's still available when you're reading this. All the editions are."
Introducing the inaugural issue of This is Cinématographe, a new journal dedicated to American cinema.
Edited by Cinématographe's Justin LaLiberty, this premiere edition features Mitchell Beaupre exploring the cinematic legacy of rebellious youth in film. Acclaimed critic Bilge Ebiri sits down with director and cinematographer Ernest Dickerson for an in-depth interview, while Robert Daniels revisits Girl 6, shining a spotlight on what he calls Spike Lee’s overlooked masterpiece. Also featured are curated New Hollywood film lists from Justin LaLiberty and Richard Brody. The issue is complemented by new artwork from Johnny Ryan and a comic on McCabe and Mrs. Miller from Nathan Gelgud.
