The Soultangler

I can't expect much from a low budget DIY film, however the pacing could've been better. All the cool stuff is saved for the final act, so you need to sit through some messy plot.

Crazy psychotronic film that really looks great in this latest restoration from Bleeding Skull! I loved the goopy effects and found it to be a competently made and interesting flick to put on.

The Soultangler is exactly the kind of homemade horror oddity I want from Bleeding Skull. It is cheap, messy, incredibly gory, and at times barely holding itself together, but I had a lot of fun with it. There is a real anything-goes quality to the whole thing, with mad science, body swapping, and splatter thrown together with absolutely no concern for good taste. It is rough in just about every possible way, but that is also where most of its charm comes from. Definitely not for everyone, but for me this is Bleeding Skull territory through and through.

Actually preferred the bonus feature here, but as an SOV Reanimator, not terrible.

I figured this low budget rarity would only get a DVD release but I was surprised when this was announced for home video. If you are fan of the Re-Animator franchise then you'll probably dig this one.
