Can't be overstated how crucial these sets are. I hope we get 100 more volumes over the years. Short-form, vital French Canadian cinema that has been inaccessible for most for far too long. If you care about world cinema, these are must haves. Stellar presentation as always, with CIP.

Between Sweet and Salt Water:
Wonderfully shot and effectively somber, though it doesn't really nail a focused narrative as it certainly falls in line with the freewheeling, slice of life approach that was prevalent at the time. The lead's blank canvas of a countenance doesn't inspire a lot of attachment when watching, keeping the film feeling as cold as its surroundings, though Bujold warms things up a bit.
Where Are You;
Usually, I don't find myself typically attached when I see the seemingly neverending supply of indie films about the ramblings of "Youth! They're both aimless AND anguished!" made over the decades, but the strong disgust of consumerism this film carries struck a chord in me. There's a sadness to this film behind the dizzying edits and flights of flamboyance, and one that I appreciated, though that it was stated as such over fifty years ago and things have only gotten worse doesn't do much for the existential depression.
