Gooey Fun
"Had to upgrade my blu-ray to this 4k version. Technically bad but I loved the effects in it and really what more can you expect from a movie called 'The Incredible Melting Man'. Recommended."

Somehow able to return to Earth, Steve awakens in a hospital bed, only to discover that his body is disintegrating. Worse, he begins to develop an instinctual urge to kill, learning that this is the only way to maintain his strength. After escaping from the hospital, Steve begins to ravage the nearby countryside; brutally murdering all who cross his path, and leaving behind a series of mangled bodies covered in his dripping flesh…

"The effects work really shines in this astounding 4K restoration. I love how Vinegar Syndrome chooses movies that no other company would give the 4K treatment to in a million years."
"Excellent goopy effects from Rick Baker highlight an essential drive-in staple. The movie looks fantastic. It's exactly the type of flick that I love from Vinegar Syndrome."
"Great looking 4K transfer. Movie is pretty solid. I dig it"
"The Incredible Melting Man is an interesting one. Fantastic practical effects aside, I found this one to be a bit of a slog to get through personally. However, even with that, VS did a great release per usual. A gorgeous 4K scan, great sound, a wealth of features, including interviews and commentaries. If you like this movie, I’d recommend this release."
"VinSyn shines here as distributor of unique films that could be considered cult classic. This gem is presented here with obvious care taken when it comes to quality of the audio and video presentation, but also in the design of the packaging. The movie is somewhat of an extra goopy slasher in glorious 4k quality. I found it very entertaining. Comes with a heap of extras on a separate Blu Ray disc, a nice reversible cover and a solid slip with cool graphics"
"When I was in 4th grade I distinctly remember channel surfing with my Mother and landing on a movie where two senior citizens decide to go to steal lemons late at night, and then they're chased by dogs and encounter a brooding deformed gentleman. It's been 29 years, I've never forgotten that moment and how hard it (unintentionally) made my Mom laugh. Imagine my surprise when this blind buy of a an Ultra HD 4K blu-ray gives me that very movie I've always wondered about! 'The Incredible Melting Man' was an Incredibly meddled-with movie. As the commentary I listened to after revealed, the massive tone shift between certain scenes is from the producers having whole new scenes shot without the director's knowledge. It sounds like what the director wanted of a mysterious horror-comic style stalking monster makes for the film's better moments rather than the exposition some scenes and just smothered and covered in. The whole opening six or so minutes showing the titular Melting Man is an astronaut kills what could have been the tension and reveal of it actually being a man who was radiated from space. Oh, what might have been. Still the actual parts with William Sachs at the helms have some very cool (now in 4K) memorable shots and the man melting for 80+ minutes is a testament to the fun of prosthetic special effects in horror. Recommended."
"This film is full of spectacular special effects, and interesting backstory. Great selection of extra features, tons of fun and atmosphere, while looking better than ever. Love the artwork!"
"I've watched many versions of this movie over the years, from VHS copies though to an Arrow bluray, but this film has never looked better! Really brings out the gory effects, which let's face it, this is what the movie is all about!"
"I first saw this movie on vhs years ago, and seeing it again in 4K was amazing, and did justice to the incredible special effects that were made by Rob Bottin. Well worth seeing if you enjoy 70's science fiction with a bit of a 50's sci-fi twist to it."
