Big fan of this one. Great 70's Canadian film. I love the story of life on the road of an aging country musician still trying to make it. A character piece with all kinds of drama. And great music. The artwork on the slipcover is really nice. And there are tons of extras. If you like 70's indie cinema, give it a shot.

I have about four CIP movies thru OCN now and this is my favorite. Loved this film. This is what I call a Sunday night movie. Kinda mellow, human drama themed, not action packed and ruthless or perverse. I liken it to Tender Mercies except instead of a former country music star trying to move on, this is about a never been trying to make it. Probably well past his expiration date. There are some real laugh out loud moments and some thought provoking depths. The acting is solid, especially from the lead, and the songs/music throughout is fantastic. Highly recommended.

Been meaning to pick this up for a while so took advantage of the halfway to BF sale to add this to the collection. It's a bit slow at times but the performances make up for it, and as a Canadian I love seeing this era of Canada captured pretty perfectly. I honestly was expecting this to be a bit more bleak, especially with the gorgeous Tony Stella artwork evoking such an ominous colour palate.

Movie about the ups and downs in the life of a country-western singer. Who would've thought I would like that ? Well I did.
