Nestled in the mountains of Tibet, an oracle known as “The Golden Child” has been born. Although guarded by the monks who raised him, villainous Sardo Numspa is determined to use the child’s mystical powers for evil purposes and hires bandits to kidnap him. "Picture quality is out done, even by Vinegar Syndrome's high standards. The cover art is absolutely beautiful along with the newly commissioned pieces. Slipcase and box look amazing as well. Great item with hours of special features."

"I'm sure after films like Trading Places, 48 Hrs and Beverly Hills Cop this is not the Eddie Murphy movie that his fans wanted to see but I was 14 years old and this was exactly the kind of Eddie Murphy movie I wanted to see. The success of The Golden Child relies on one very important thing: you have to really think Eddie is funny because there is not a line of dialogue that he delivers that is not a wisecrack. In fact, everyone and everything else is taken seriously for the most part except for Eddie, who is not taking anything seriously at all. And, while this can be a disaster for most other movies, it just somehow works here. I don't know man, 80s vibes are going a long way here. Also, the Sardo stuff at the end is super rad. Nice looking transfer, comes with a slipcase AND a sturdy box and booklet. Haven't dived into the extras yet but they are plentiful. I mean, I'm pretty sure if you're going to pay the price for this one you probably love it like I do."
