Calling this a 'remake' is a very generous read, but it is a genuinely enjoyable experience regardless, assuming you're into the treasure that is the ostensible arthouse music video stylings of Greek epics. Fun restoration for anyone who's ever sat through a collection of student films and had a good time.

This movie is pretty much a long music video with the production value of an early Youtube video, that shouldn't work. Somehow, it does, as director/star Caroline Bennett fully commits to playing every character and insanity ensues.

This release is a remake of Fellini’s Satyricon and is filled with insanity! It is a very different kind of film but was very enjoyable to watch! The peerless VS restoration process was on full display with stellar sound and picture! Thank you, VS, for continuing to lovingly restore and release so many wonderful films from every conceivable genre! You are keeping physical media alive in this streaming world we now live in! Highly recommended!

Saw a Letterboxd review for this describing it as “if 100 gecs made a movie” and that feels like a pretty accurate description.

I like what Stice do but this was too long to enjoy in a single sitting. Probably better as background noise…
