- CGCheryl G.Verified Buyer1 month agoRated 4 out of 5 starsA solid entry to the folk horror genre.
I love a good folk horror film so this was a treat. Folk horror in a lot of respects is just the occult usually (but not always) without the background of a major religion and usually mixed with a regional boogeyman of sorts. This film is sort of a mix between the 2005 film The Dark (which it bears the most resemblance to), Pet Sematary, and a bit of The New Daughter. It's shot digitally, but has faux film grain which does help set the folk horror feel a bit more.
The encoding is nice, I haven't had the chance to watch any extras.

Folk horror isn't always my thing, but I figured I give it a try for the Doctor. Still not my thing.

Above average folk horror that has some intriguing twists and turns and unsettling moments—especially the one involving rabbits. The ending fell a little flat but all and all worth a watch to satisfy any folk horror itches.
