Star Time

Radical! I've wanted to see this little-known film for a long time now, and leave it to Vinegar Syndrome to make that possible, and affordable. This is quite the film, it did not disappoint. Well written, artfully composed and shot, and still relevant, regardless of the age of the movie. Dark, intellingent, and on the fringe, just how I like 'em. No longer lost in time, if you love bizzare and absurdly insightful oddities, you should check this out.

One of kind great restoration on this creepy early 90s horror it’s worth a watch

This was a blind buy and a nice discovery. A different kind of slasher for sure but enjoyed it. Restoration looked great.

I've been steadily purchasing nearly every VS release since the time that Star Time was released, but it was one of the very, very few I skipped. Nothing I ever saw regarding it ever appealed to me - I didn't like the cover, the design of the packaging gave me cheap alt-arthouse-sci-fi vibes for some reason, and no review or mention online ever piqued my interest.

Until the New Beverly Cinema recently programmed it, and on their promotional podcast, someone mentioned the thing that finally made me leap to purchase it.

So I say this in case there's someone else like me out there, who will only be moved by this one thing:

THE LEAD ACTOR WAS BRENDA'S DRAMA CLASS TEACHER ON BEVERLY HILLS *****.

That's all you had to say, VS. I would have owned this blu ray like a decade ago if you had just come out and been honest with us.

And, turns out: it's a fascinating little film on its own merits. Worth a look even if you don't get here via West Beverly High.
