                            Awesome Aussie cop mystery with sexy elements

                            "The movie mixes sex and nudity of exploitation with a more traditional police mystery plot. Somewhat of an odd structure in that regard as we get flashbacks that fill in the backstory and actually show us the killing before the detective figures it out. Then, after the killer is finally revealed, we get another 20 minutes of story that really doesn't go where you'd expect. We end in a political morass and one of the killers gets away. But we end on a triumphant note anyway with our hero getting to tell off his boss twice while surrounded by a poolful of topless babes. Add to that an extremely catchy theme song and you've got a winner. An overlooked gem finally getting a US release. Highly recommended."

                            Fun period piece, extras are spectacular

                            "Ultimately more interesting than I think it tried to be, there’s a lot more to it than just a simple procedural with a hot lead actor. 1975 doesn’t look so sexy now at this juncture, but both the men and the women (who show mucho skin) are very attractive in classic fashions of the era, and with hairstyles depicting that time perfectly. The supporting actors do good work here. The key appeal for me here proved to be the Special Features - the documentary on cars in Australian film and the reels show of trailers for Jack Thompson’s filmography, that’s great stuff (& now I have a *list* of films to seek out!). Packaging has a marvellous 2-sided slipcover and also a fun, informative booklet."
