Satan Wants You

Satan Wants You is a fascinating documentary about the origins of the Satanic Panic and the enormous influence of Michelle Remembers, the controversial 1980 book that claimed to document recovered memories of satanic ritual abuse.

The film does an excellent job examining how extraordinary stories about secret rituals escaped the confines of a therapist's office and spread through the media, religious communities, and eventually popular culture. Archival footage and interviews show just how quickly fear could reinforce claims that lacked credible supporting evidence.

What makes the documentary especially effective is that it isn't simply recounting a bizarre cultural episode. It explores the real consequences of the panic and how suggestion, sensationalism, and media attention helped transform extraordinary allegations into something many people accepted as fact.

As a release, it's a great choice for anyone interested in true crime, psychology, moral panics, or unusual corners of recent history.

Overall, Satan Wants You is unsettling precisely because the most frightening part isn't Satanism. It's watching misinformation become accepted reality.

Equal parts fascinating and infuriating. Hard to believe how much damage one fabricated story caused.

Not much rewatch value but a good release on an interesting topic

Excellent addition to my collection!

Awesome slipcover and very fascinating documentary about the horrors of social panic and how a made up story can reach far and wide 😱😱😱😱😱
