Perfectly depressing movie about a golden boy who is past his prime, with a wonderful central performance and some tough scenes. Biting and cynical.

A slow, melancholic portrait of a washed-up singer drifting through off-season Europe. It’s all about atmosphere, performance, and small details. The transfer captures the chilly, faded look of the locations perfectly.

Vinegar Syndrome's Blu-ray release of Rimini (2022), directed by Ulrich Seidl, presents a stark, character-driven portrait of Richie Bravo (Michael Thomas), a washed-up Austrian pop star now performing for German-speaking tourists in the off-season of Italy's Rimini. The film delves into themes of faded celebrity, exploitation, and familial estrangement, as Richie navigates his crumbling existence amidst the wintry backdrop of the Adriatic coast. The Blu-ray edition offers a high-definition presentation that captures the film's bleak yet poignant atmosphere, complemented by a CD soundtrack and English subtitles. This release is a must-have for cinephiles interested in contemporary European cinema and character studies
