Gutted that I missed out on the slip cover, but extremely glad to have picked it up before it went OOP.
A wonderful double-bill of Pinions films. Great to see the connectivity here with the NY Cinema of Transgression scene. . . makes me wish someone (take the hint SC!) would do a packed release of Richard Kerns films.

I really loved Blonde Death and started to find my next SOV fix. This didn't quite do it for me. Loved the themes but the execution was just ok.

Oddity, words can hardly describe the horror therein

once again Charles Pinion blew my anti-SOV tendencies (which are now basically obsolete I guess) out of the water with 2 more acid-psychedelic gutter ***'n'violence transgressive mind-melters that are as challenging as they are punk rock entertaining; I haven't checked his filmography but I hope there's more out there to release. I know VS worked with Scooter McCrae to make a film (BLACK EYED SUSAN); I wonder if they could get Pinion as well? Anyway, RED SPIRIT is the one that forces this release to the Melusine site only, as the (minimal) *** material is just part of a kitchen-sink approach toward witchcraft, angels, demons, UFOs, and combos of all of the above, all set in a Cabin in the Woods to give it an EVIL DEAD Goes Cinema of Transgression vibe. WE AWAIT is straight up REPO MAN meets TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE with a bit of pre-John Michael McCarthy. Be prepared for both movies to have incredible soundtracks, a rather apparent (and welcome) breast obsession (although it's all equal-opportunity nudity, so the ***** tend to channel more feminine energy than anything else), and a spirit of anarchy and offensiveness (I mean, I was offended by the portrayal of Jesus in the 2nd movie, but I understand how the warped version of Christian Thought that is mostly on display by it's adherents in earlier scenes leads to this sort of reaction, so I welcome it as a point of discussion) that make them great to watch and then talk about later. The extras look amazing as well; I would…
