An alien craft carrying a being with foxlike features has landed in the middle of rural England. After brutally murdering a young couple, the being animates himself into the body of the man he killed, adopting the name Anders. Upon being discovered by a reclusive lesbian couple, who mistake him for an injured drifter, they invite him to recover in their isolated home, unaware of his innate bloodlust...

While ostensibly a science fiction film, Norman J. Warren's PREY is a brooding study in sexual desire and loneliness, punctuated by shocking violence and suspense. Equal parts bloody and erotic, Vinegar Syndrome presents this masterpiece of British horror on Blu-ray, in a brand new, director approved restoration from its 35mm negative, and fully uncut for the first time since its 80s VHS release.

Nice blind buy

"Looks great, restoration is splendid."

Your mileage may vary

"This one didn't quite hit the mark for me. The premise is good enough and the acting is fine, but some parts were quite a snooze. However, it's got pretty good reviews in general so there might be something I'm missing. Maybe I just like my monsters a little more. . . monstery?"

Ed G. (3/5)

Prey

"Great picture quality for this one. Audio is solid also. Recommended."

Bradley A. (5/5)

Fine

"Movie: Overall a serviceable sci-fi slasher. At a few points it seems like the movie is going to get more interesting and deep, although it ultimately doesn't, which is fine. There are scenes that shock when they need to, an intriguing lesbian couple, and a comically large switchblade. Seriously, it's like a joke prop you'd see in a Zucker brothers movie. Extras: The three interviews were moderately engaging, and it was neat to hear how they shot the movie in 10 days. I wish the lengths lf special features were always noted, either on the packaging or in the menu. Packaging: Striking cover, plus points for it being reversible."

Gideon M. (3/5)

Great Science-Fiction

"A slow burn, whacked out science fiction/suspense thriller. It's all done with makeup and props, but the otherworldly vibe is excellent. Will the parrot survive? Great video, sometimes the audio could use a little boost due to actors speaking softly."

Paul B. (5/5)

This fits perfectly in the

"This fits perfectly in the VS catalog! Love this release!"

JJ P. (5/5)

Worth a watch!

"I really enjoyed Prey but had some mixed feelings on it. It's slightly offbeat and unconventional which was a nice surprise, when it's good it's great, when it's bad it's really baaaad, and slow."

Matthew R. (4/5)

Solid sci-fi/horror movie

"Really good sci-fi/horror movie with some interesting twists and performances."

Rene R. (5/5)

Prey to Buy This Movie

"Cold, tense flick, and really highly recommended. As usual, the transfers here at VS blow me away, and I'm so happy that they put films like this out."

Eddie G. (5/5)

Aw. . . he's so cute. . .

"Little kitty cat alien. When this movie is dull its dull but when its fun its super fun. Got a sweet VSMC slipcover to go with it."
