Cool AF

"this slick pop-culture documentary is pure nostalgia bait done right. Has interviews, classic 1980s commercial clips and vintage toy concept art. Packed with deep-dive insights from creators and actors like Dolph Lundgren, it is an essential addition for physical media collectors who love the history behind one of their favorite childhood toys."

"I watched this but it wasn't exactly super interesting to me."

Fascinating Documentary

"I was a huge fan of Masters Of The Universe as a kid back in the 80s with what I thought was an enviable collection of figures. Having watched this film I realise how wrong I was. This feature length documentary details the complete history of the toyline, cartoon and movie from the wisps of creation to the phenomenon that it became and still is to this day. Most of the talking heads are behind the scenes folks but a few noticeable faces include Dolph Lundgren, Frank Langella and Alan Oppenheimer. Unfortunately John Erwin who voiced He-Man didn't take part. Any MOTU fan has to watch this and I'm sure it'll also appeal to anyone with an interest in 80s pop culture. It also contains a wealth of extra footage from the interviews."

Entertaining and informative documentary

"I actually didn't grow up with He-man as it was popular on TV a bit before my time, but I always thought it was interesting and I'm a fan of the live action MOTU film. This is a really cool documentary that covers the creation of the toys, how the original series came to be, and talks about the live-action Cannon film. They interviewed a ton of different people directly involved with all mediums of the franchise. They also cover some of the later reboot series, the comics, and you get to hear from long-time collectors and fans. Haven't watched all the extras yet but there's really good and interesting deleted scenes that go a bit more in depth on certain subjects, as well as a featurette of hardcore collectors talking about what He-man has meant to them. There's also a behind the scenes feature which goes over how the production came together that's quite interesting. Highly recommended to any He-man fan, and also enjoyable if your into 80s toy and cartoon nostalgia-type retrospectives."
