Power of Grayskull: The Definitive History of He-Man and the Masters of the Universe

I used to watch Masters of the Universe as a kid and this was a wonderful journey back to that time.

I watched this

but it wasn't exactly super interesting to me.

this slick pop-culture documentary is pure nostalgia bait done right. Has interviews, classic 1980s commercial clips and vintage toy concept art. Packed with deep-dive insights from creators and actors like Dolph Lundgren, it is an essential addition for physical media collectors who love the history behind one of their favorite childhood toys.

I was a huge fan of Masters Of The Universe as a kid back in the 80s with what I thought was an enviable collection of figures. Having watched this film I realise how wrong I was.

This feature length documentary details the complete history of the toyline, cartoon and movie from the wisps of creation to the phenomenon that it became and still is to this day. Most of the talking heads are behind the scenes folks but a few noticeable faces include Dolph Lundgren, Frank Langella and Alan Oppenheimer. Unfortunately John Erwin who voiced He-Man didn't take part.

Any MOTU fan has to watch this and I'm sure it'll also appeal to anyone with an interest in 80s pop culture. It also contains a wealth of extra footage from the interviews.

Great documentary with tons of extras and the slipcover is freaking awesome!
