Permanent Damage

A truly solid and quirky piece of criminal action film here. Some unintentionally funny dialogue and a group of legit idiots trying their hand at mob land style crime in the grimy streets of Baltimore in 1992. Had a fun time with this film and the extras gave a better context on this messy, but fun title.

Good stuff

This was a fantastic throwback to the days of making movies fresh out of film school. This movie contains all the passion held by young filmmakers. It contains a lot of the classic mistakes as well, but in an enjoyable way. The characters are compelling, and the story is engaging. The 360 dolly scene may be questionable, but it's competently shot, and directed. It's a shame the film wasn't distributed back in the day, because I think this team could have gone on to make better films together. The fun they had on the film shines through, and for a low budget project, shot on film, and finished to BETA, it holds up surprisingly well, and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a fun throwback.

so bad, it's good.

A neat VHSHITFEST discovery. Four suburban guys trying to become criminals is already a funny setup, and the dark-comedy crime angle gives it a different flavor from the usual lost-video oddity. Glad this one finally got pulled out of obscurity with a proper transfer and extras.
