Orgy of the Dead

It's good cheesy fun. Great packaging, excellent transfer. If you're considering picking it up, you likely know what you're getting. By no means a film to pick apart or subject to deep analysis, but great the throw on if you need to turn your brain off for a while.

Had high hopes for this one, which might be why I was a bit bored during. Campy fun, though, and would be cool to throw on during a Halloween party or something like that. Commentary had a lot going on, some of it interesting, but kind of a ramshackle quality. The interview with Nadejda Dobrev was something else, though! I got this with the newer alternate slipcover, which I think compliments the old case art by providing a different but also fun color scheme. Maybe watch first to see if it's something you want to own.

Orgy of the Dead is exactly the kind of bizarre exploitation artifact that becomes more entertaining the further it goes. The Ed Wood dialogue, Criswell’s wonderfully theatrical presence, the graveyard setting, and the endless succession of strange dance routines give it a completely unique atmosphere. It’s cheap, ridiculous, hypnotic, and somehow incredibly charming because of it.

This is definitely a movie where the vibe matters more than conventional storytelling, and that’s a huge part of the appeal. The presentation on this edition looks great, and I especially love the artwork on the limited variant slipcover. A perfect release for anyone who appreciates vintage exploitation and genuine cult-movie weirdness.

I can't count the amount of times I've put this on at the background at parties

Not a narrative movie, but if you enjoy exotic dancing in cosplay you may have found your holy grail.
