all Akerman films are treasures, but having something this intimate and this beautiful made so close to a filmmaker's death is unbelievable. Should be required viewing in all film schools.

The presentation and portrayal of the main character in this intriguing cinema release was quite different, but still interesting. The peerless VS restoration process was on full display with stellar sound and picture! Thank you, VS, for continuing to lovingly restore and release so many wonderful films from every conceivable genre! You are keeping physical media alive in this streaming world we now live in! Highly recommended!

Movie:
The dialogue scenes definitely had me hooked, but the the long, quiet shots didn't really resonate with me. They feel very intentional, but I just didn't get what they were supposed to be adding to the movie.
Extra:
Kind of neat, with some interesting background information on Akerman's life. I like the observation she made about spending a lot of time staring out of windows as a kid because her mother wouldn't let her go play outside. If you are a parent don't do this to your kids or they might grow up to make extremely slow-paced cinema.
