“There’s a helluva lot more action and crashes just in the trailer for MIDNITE SPARES than there is in the first two FAST AND FURIOUS movies put together!”- Quentin Tarantino

They didn’t get angry… they got even.

Set against a background of high-risk sprintcar driving, MIDNIGHT SPARES tells the action-packed story of a motley team of grease monkeys and speedway freaks who take on a massive car stealing and stripping racket in the west of Sydney. They quickly discover that they’re not only battling a tough and highly organised auto crime cartel – but also the bent cops who protect them.Packed with jaw-dropping crashes and smashes, bitumen-burning chases and adrenaline-pumping speedway action, MIDNITE SPARES features scene-stealing performances from Ozploitation superstars Bruce Spence and David Argue, alongside Gia Carides (in her film debut) and spunky Amanda Dole (1983 Playmate of the Year).

                      Interesting one from umbrella entertainment

"Interesting release from umbrella entertainment. The packaging is decent enough with a nice slipcover and artwork but just couldn’t get into the story enough on this one. It’s an Australian film and I think just some of the slang and dialogue was hard for me to follow at times and the story was kind of confusing to me until I watched the extras. It was a blind buy that I don’t regret but will probably only watch a couple times I’m sure"

                      Old School Car Gem

"Not much excites me more in a film than a classic car movie. Unfortunately it doesn't seem like there's a lot of options out there past your classics (Gone in 60 Seconds, Dirty Mary Crazy Larry, Vanishing Point, etc. ). I made a blind order for Midnite Spares hoping for some fun and that's exactly what I got! Killer fast paced movies with tons of car carnage wrapped in a catchy slipcover."

                      Matthew D. (5/5)

                      Mate!

"blast of Australian car-crash cinema with a stunning restoration that handles the night-time racing scenes perfectly. The chemistry between the leads and the top-notch stunt work make this a standout addition to any action collection."

                      Kevin G. (5/5)

                      Australian racing film

"Midnight Spares is a scrappy, fast‑paced slice of early‑80s Australian car‑action cinema—light on depth but packed with energy, colorful characters, and some genuinely impressive stunt work. It’s uneven and often cheesy, but its mix of street‑racing, chop‑shop crime, and broad comedy gives it a lively cult‑movie charm."

                      Tarek E. (3/5)

                      Midnite Spares - Umbrella Entertainment

"The trailer really sells this one, but unfortunately it falls short. Love the Australian locale, and some bizarre characters, but the story is flat, and somehow the pace is a slow as a snail. Recommend picking this one up on sale only."

                      Matthew L. (3/5)

Extras were better than the film

"Didn’t love it, but the disc is great."

                      Nick C. (3/5)

                      Great

                      "Great"

                      Joseph Z. (5/5)

                      So much fun

"Australian action flick with lots of good car stunts. The finale is especially awesome."

                      Chris F. (5/5)

                      Midnite Spares

"Midnite Spares is a lean, high-octane Australian action film that delivers gritty thrills and muscular car chases. The dusty outback setting and tough performances give it an authentic, hard-edged energy. It’s a fast, no-nonsense ride that earns its cult status among fans of road-fueled genre cinema."

                      Jeffrey W. (5/5)

                      I Really Liked This One!
