Recently incarcerated Baron (Joe Keery) strikes up a friendship with cellmate Otis (Aldis Hodge), a man with a well-versed history of prison breaks. As the pair hatch an escape plan together, Baron recalls the story of how he met Marmalade (Camila Morrone), the love of his life, and their "Bonnie and Clyde" style scheme to rob a bank in order to care for his sick mother and give the couple the life they've always dreamed of.
directed by: Keir O'Donnell starring: Joe Keery, Camila Morrone, Aldis Hodge, Ozioma Akagha, Wayne Duvall, Amy Warner 2024 / 99 min / 1.85:1 / English DTS-HD MA 5.1
"This one was a welcomed surprise. I bought it because I like Joe Keery from Stranger Things and Aldis Hodge from Cross. It's a romance with Joe Keery's character as the lead and the mysterious woman that comes into his life, Marmalade. Saying more would ruin what surprises this one has in store."

Joe Keery can really act!
"Marmalade impressed me in a lot of ways. It was well-written, well-directed, well-acted, and well-shot. It was the sort of movie you’d expect to see picking up all sorts of nominations at the Independent Spirit Awards (for indie movies). I really like this movie. It was very interesting and surprised me at the end. A very unexpected love story. As much as I liked all of the acting in this movie, Camila Morrone (from “Never Goin' Back”, which I own but have yet to watch) was my favorite. As for the film itself, it looked and sounded great. It’s accompanied by a very interesting commentary track by the writer/(first time) director Keir O'Donnell. Originally, I didn’t care for the slipcover that much, but having seen the movie, I now love it."

Marmalade
"I was caught of guard by how much I enjoyed this movie. While I was already a fan of both Aldis Hodge and Joe Keery, I was quite impressed with Camila Morrone and am excited to look up more of her work. I originally blind bought this because I love the slipcover and wrap art and that made me curious about the movie. I am very glad I picked this one up. While I did feel a little dumb that I didn't see the twist at the end coming I was impressed with the way the reveal happens. Great acting, fun story, visually pleasing, and not too serious. Will be recommending this one to everyone."

Buy the Vinegar Syndrome partner labels are so great
"I do a lot of blind buying through Vinegar Syndrome's partner labels and this was one of the bigger hits. A fun movie through and through with JK flexing his acting chops. Very enjoyable front to back."

Too Cool
"This film was alright, I guess. It did pass the time alright, but was a one time watch for me. It does look and sound fine, and has a nice slipcover, which I'm sure some fans will enjoy. 6/10"

Camila Morrone steals the show
"Camila Morrone steals the show in this one. Never even heard of her. Interesting hybrid of romance and crime movie. A fun time!"

Fantastic
"Marmalade by Keir O’Donnell is a restrained indie crime drama that carefully balances romance and deception without leaning on gimmicks. It unfolds patiently and rewards attention, revealing a thoughtful structure beneath its understated surface."
