Lifechanger has a great body-horror premise: a shapeshifter must repeatedly take over other people's bodies to survive, absorbing their memories while its borrowed bodies rapidly decay. That concept gives the movie plenty of gruesome possibilities, but the story also finds an unexpectedly emotional angle.
What makes the film interesting is that the creature isn't simply hunting random victims. Its obsession with one woman gives the story a tragic romantic element and raises uncomfortable questions about identity, possession, and whether love can still be love when another person's autonomy is completely ignored.
The practical makeup and body effects work particularly well with the modest budget, giving the transformations a nasty physical quality.
Overall, Lifechanger is a clever indie horror film that combines grisly body horror with a surprisingly melancholy story.

The premise and tone of this one is really compelling, giving it a unique hook while also employing an almost casual feel to everything that's playing out. The premise also lends it self to start feeling a bit cyclical and saggy in the middle, but the whole is handled quite competently, with a couple of good suspense moments and quick hits of nice practical effects to keep you engaged until a fittingly obtuse ending.

Lifechanger is a very creative film. The movie is about a guy who has to shapeshift so they don't die. Unfortunately each time he has to become someone else completely and then kill them in the process.
It's a very unique film. I love when there are new movies that have different plots. I feel like so many movies are retreads of other plots. This one is totally original and it is really good.
Being from 2018, the disc looks great. This set is stacked. It has deleted scenes, a feature length documentary, a short film and a commentary. If that wasn't enough, there is a whole second film included. This set also has the 2012 film The Collapsed. This film has its own set of extras too.
The OCN slipcover is gorgeous too!
Check this one out. It was really cool.
