Presented in partnership with Something Weird Video...

The American Genre Film Archive (AGFA) represents the world's largest theatrical catalog of exploitation cinema. Their home video line presents a diverse selection of movies, ranging from new preservations of classics from the vast library of Something Weird to the wildest in shot-on-video (SOV) titles. Vinegar Syndrome’s sister company, OCN Distribution, is thrilled to be representing this diverse and unique home video line!

In the 1990s, Something Weird Video mesmerized a generation of film fanatics by unearthing the most wildly surreal genre films of all time—all via the magic of VHS. KRAZEE KIDZ VIDEO PARTY is a loving tribute to those cathode-tube-fueled days. Featuring five deranged kiddie features—all preserved from the original Something Weird S-VHS masters—this collection serves as a time machine to a beloved era in home video history.

THE BIG BAD WOLF (1957, 53 mins, Color)
Inflicting trauma on kids across the country during its original theatrical run, this is a surreal anthropomorphic nightmare that masquerades as a children's film.

FUN IN BALLOON LAND (1965, 53 mins, Color)
Calling all “weirdees” for this campy amateur production that documents the 45th annual Thanksgiving Day Parade in Philadelphia and other strange sights.

POLLY POCKETS (1960s, 25 mins, Color)
Meet us at the Castle of Gloom for this un-aired kiddie TV show pilot that's best viewed under the influence of a mind-altering substance.

THE PRINCESS AND THE MAGIC FROG (1965, 78 mins, Color)
Leprechauns, wizards, and puppets unite in this WIZARD OF OZ homage that was filmed by the lunatics responsible for THE MAGIC CHRISTMAS TREE.

KINGDOM OF CROOKED MIRRORS (1963, 76 mins, Color)
Resembling an acid-tinged, live-action cartoon, this Russian fairy tale is an imaginative, stylish, and wonderfully surreal discovery.

One Country’s Children’s Entertainment Is Another’s Nightmare Fuel

"Though you might not exactly be a bad parent or guardian if you showed this collection to an actual child, you would certainly be raising them in a way to make their minds as strange as possible. Watching THE PRINCESS AND THE MAGIC FROG made me pine for an AGFA release of THE MAGIC CHRISTMAS TREE. A fun release for the young-and-emotionally-stunted-at-heart. Big thanks to Adam Hursey for making it possible."

Mind altering kids movies from yesteryear

"In my youth I watched Czech puppet animation and thought, that's already crazy. Well, this set proves that in the US, they weren't averse to make oddball kids movies too (though there's also a Russian film in here). I had already heard of the adventures that took place in Balloon Land, the rest was new to me. There are sights here that must have broken the feeble brains of children in the '50s and '60s. AGFA again deliver a set that ticks off everything we love about physical media : amazing presentation, love and care into the preservation. The slipcover is a gem."

Best bizarre compilation ever

"Krazee Kids Video Party is a bizarre compilation of obscure children’s and family-oriented video segments from the VHS era, featuring strange performances, educational clips, and unintentionally surreal moments. The collection highlights the odd charm of low-budget home video productions from the 1980s and early 1990s. The Blu-ray release from American Genre Film Archive (AGFA) restores and preserves these rare tapes in high definition. Packed with additional oddball footage and contextual extras, the release celebrates the weird and nostalgic side of forgotten VHS culture."

KRAZEE KIDZ VIDEO PARTY

"Fun in Baloonland is the droning nightmare we all deserve."

Wild G Rated fun

"I highly recommend this disc if you love seeing bizzare shows and movies. Each one is like you took some out of date medicine and started watching tv. No wonder people are so messed up with growing up watching these movies HA. It was a blast. The big bad wolf was the best. It is funny to see the violence and killing with it being a kids movie. And why is there humans, anthros and then animals with hats all living in the same world? A must buy."

Robert B. (4/5)

"i just had to pick this one up and it delivered, like Agfa almost always does. Awesome artwork and great contents. Highly recommended."

Hansi L. (5/5)

swap out the popcorn for extra cereal

"Another great collection of gunk from the SWV vaults! These adventures are obviously not for everyone, but the saccharine brainmelt on offer might be just the ticket! My faves by a longshot are KINGDOM OF CROOKED MIRRORS & BIG BAD WOLF."
