Jobe'z World

A true original

A wild alternate reality future romp.

A film where Manhattan is an important character. Jobe who dreams of becoming a manga artist works as delivery guy of designer drugs. This night he´s pressed for time he´s cooking dinner and has to pick up mom at the JFK and his boss needs him to do some more work.

I just loved it, at night every cuity changes and new creatures appear.

Life can be a drag sometimes.

Highly recommended.

short but fun

Jobe’z World (2018), directed by Michael M. Bilandic, is a lo-fi indie dramedy that follows Jobe (Jason Grisell), a rollerblading drug courier navigating a surreal, late-night Manhattan. The film's minimalist style and deadpan humor create a disorienting atmosphere, capturing the ennui of its aimless protagonist. While the screenplay is uneven and some characters underdeveloped, Theodore Bouloukos delivers a standout performance as Royce, a washed-up actor whose encounter with Jobe propels the narrative into darker territory. Cinematographer Sean Price Williams' moody visuals and a haunting score by Paul Grimstad enhance the film's introspective tone. At just 67 minutes, Jobe’z World offers a brief yet immersive exploration of urban isolation and existential drift. It's a film that may resonate with viewers seeking an unconventional, indie cinematic experience.
