I really enjoyed having Inn of the Damned and Night of Fear together like this. Neither is particularly polished, but both have that rough, slightly strange quality I love about early Australian genre cinema. Night of Fear is the leaner and nastier of the two, while Inn of the Damned takes the same basic spirit and stretches it into something bigger and more eccentric. There is a real sense of filmmakers figuring out what Australian horror could be, and that makes them fascinating even when they stumble. A great pairing from Umbrella and exactly the kind of release that makes me appreciate these films beyond simply whether they are good or bad.

Love the double features Great horror movies

The presentation by VS is pretty good. Sadly, the movie itself suffers from familiarity with more popular and enjoyable movies. It's ozploitation, worth checking if you are curious. The great atmosphere doesn't overcome the bad acting and the poor plot.

Great package overall! The slipcover was super nice. Definitely recommended.

The slipcover looks sick, alas, mine is the standard edition, though that still has the booklet.
This is a double bill of films by pioneer director Terry Bourke, with 1 a short film (53 minutes) and the other a whopping 2 hour horror film that also has some western elements in it.
A preservation of Aussie horror history, well worth it.
