In Search of All American Massacre: The Lost Texas Chainsaw Film

For more than two decades, All American Massacre has remained one of horror’s most talked-about pieces of lost media. Conceived as a Texas Chainsaw Massacre spin-off starring Bill Moseley as Chop Top and directed by William Tony Hooper, son of The Texas Chain Saw Massacre director Tobe Hooper, the film disappeared before its release, leaving behind only a trailer, scattered production materials, and decades of speculation. In Search of All American Massacre: The Lost Texas Chainsaw Film follows filmmaker Edward Payson as he investigates the disappearance of the production, pursues new leads, examines mysterious material that has surfaced online, and searches for the missing footage. Alongside a candid interview with cast member Greg Herger, who portrayed Grandpa, a panel assembled by the documentary analyzes the surviving material, explores its possible origins, and pieces together the evidence in an effort to better understand what happened to one of horror’s most enduring lost media stories.
