A struggling Hollywood actress haunted by memories of an invasive childhood trauma, Rose is driven to the edge by life-changing news, an upcoming high-pressure audition, and the controlling machinations of her boyfriend's lunatic mother. Escaping to the small mountain town of Idyllwild during a forest fire, Rose hides out in a kitschy honeymoon motel where she soon finds herself trapped in a twisted, magenta-tinged fairytale. "The picture quality is excellent, and the release itself is very well produced. The restoration looks spectacular, with strong detail, rich colors, and a polished presentation that really shows off the film’s visual style. Unfortunately, I did not connect with the movie itself. The trailer made it look very promising, but the more I watched and tried to understand it, the more confusing and disorienting it became. I also found it a little boring in places. Even so, it is an impressive looking film and a very strong release from a technical standpoint."

I wish I lived there
"I’m not sure if I loved, liked or loathed “I Live Here Now. ” Because I felt all of the above while watching it. It’s a beautiful looking film that deals with trauma in a Lynchian style. That’s my biggest issue with the movie. Julie Pacino did a great job aping his style, but I didn’t get a sense of who she is as a director. Which is problematic for one’s feature film debut. For the most part the acting is really good. I’m now obsessed with Lucy Fry, the lead actor, and need to see her in more movies. On the other hand Sheryl Lee and Matt Rife were completely wasted in their respective roles."

"The movie wasn't for me, but that doesn't mean there's not an audience for it or that it's bad. It's a vibe-thing. While some totally hated "Her private Hell", I totally vibed with that movie, but, though similar in style and execution, "I live Here Now" and I didn't get on the same wavelength."
