I Blame Society is a sharp, darkly comedic satire that blurs the line between reality and performance. Presented in a mockumentary style, the film follows a struggling filmmaker who decides to prove her worth by planning — and filming — the perfect murder. The result is a mix of biting social commentary, uncomfortable humor, and suspense. Gillian Wallace Horvat both directs and stars, delivering a performance that is bold, unsettling, and cleverly self-aware. The film stands out for its critique of the industry, gender roles, and ambition, all wrapped in a tone that oscillates between satire and psychological thriller.
